CAD-Viewer

Not everyone needs a sophisticated tool as the CAD-Editor (see also "CAD-Editor") that makes all plan data accessible and fully editable. However decision makers or co-workers outside the FM-department should have the possibility to look at CAD data. The CAD-Viewer is the inexpensive way to keep license costs under control.

CAD-Viewer module offers the following characteristics:

• Connection to building database

• Transparent stories/floors
• Printing in any optional drawing standard

Read usual drawing formats

With CAD-Viewer you can read plan data from other CAD applications, different from Graphisoft’s ArchiCAD as well. So CAD-Viewer can access the most commonly used CAD formats: DXF, DWG or DGN, as well as Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) of International Alliance for Interoperability (IAI). Even pure graphic data, as renderings or photos are representable.

Visualization of the building

CAD-Viewer also displays 2D plans as layouts/sketches on your screen just like complete 3D building models. The degree of details is naturally optional and the range is from entire building to individual elements e.g. a washstand or some window detail.

Building-information system

CAD-Viewer has an interface to the building information system. All graphic data are linked to alphanumeric data. User of the building information system wanting only to see and understand graphic data, but wouldn’t be working on them, can graphically display objects in the database any time.

Layer control

There are different construction units and objects on different levels (layers). The graphical Viewer gives you a selection of special level-combinations that represent exactly the desired construction units. Thus with a mouse-click you can present/display area utilization, emergency escape routes or furnishing plans on your screen.

Illustratable transparent storey/floor

In case you would like to see the floor below the actual floor or the one above it to be able to compare, you’ll need this option. The graphic Viewer enables you to create a so-called „transparent floor“

Print in any optional drawing standard

The CAD-Viewer supports all printing- and plot-functions. Whatever you’d like to print be it a plan/sketch of a single office room on a 1:20 scale or a complete building plan on a 1:200 scale.
